Welcome to my new website!!!

You may have noticed I had the ordering turned off on my old website since April/May. That was because I wanted to focus on preparing for my first market. I quickly discovered that I find the repetitiveness of making multiples of each item to be tedious and not fun. But I persevered to make what was needed for my market. Fast forward to the market, it was a great learning experience, and I’m incredibly thankful I gave it a try but I discovered that my body doesn’t physically handle everything that goes into a market and my anxiety in crowds doesn’t help the situation any. While I felt super accomplished by the end, and vastly enjoyed spending time with one of my best friends and brother I didn’t actually enjoy the market itself. I figured out it’s just not where my heart is.

Afterwards I did some soul searching and realized crocheting and art in general is very much a coping skill/technique for me to help my mental health issues but I need to do things that make my heart happy such as prayer shawls for people facing serious medical issues, memorial blankets, things for friends and family and even sometimes things for myself. So I’ve decided to do away with my square site that’s a sales driven platform and switch to here where I can combine my love of crochet with my love of writing and just create more of a portfolio of my art. I’m not sure how often I’ll do blog posts, but I will share photos of what I’m working on with a little bit about it in each post. I’m still going to be doing custom items for friends and family when they have things they’d like done but on a very limited basis to allow myself time to work on projects my heart is wanting to do. One big thing that my heart is leading me to do this year is making Lap Blankets for seniors in a memory care facility and I will be donating all of them in November. I’m not sure how many I will complete, it depends on a lot of factors but I’ve already started my first one. I will also continue to do my medical prayer shawls with a goal of gifting 3-6 this year.

Originally my thoughts with Bell Legacy Creations was that I wanted a way to share my art, express myself, have a purpose since not being able to work and maybe make a little money to help my family along the way, but really making money and “sales” weren’t the part that made me the happiest and were never my be all end all goal. So I’m really happy to be narrowing my focus to spreading love and sharing my art, expressing myself and continuing my purpose and passion. If you've read all of this thank you for joining me on this new part of my journey!!
